When I combine astrology with psychotherapy, we find that two potent agents for understanding and change come together.  Astrotherapy is typically done in 4 sessions, with a useful dialog happening between the two of us.  There is no absolute declaration of the "fate" of your chart, since each person has a unique relationship with the chart that gives the outlines, not the particulars of the symbols.

The four sessions are:

1  Focus on the sun, moon and rising sign:  the basics of personality, your early and later history and how your strengths and weaknesses helped to form who you are.

2 & 3  We go through the "departments" of your life, the houses, and show how the particular expression of your life is symbolized in the chart.  We start to make sense of your internal conflicts and those environmental difficulties that you made it through and how they shape your current life.

4.  Finally, we go over the current "climate" and "weather" of your life.  The longer time periods you are in right now and how they form the background of your current life, as well as the present advantages and problems shown in the chart.  I use a combination of medieval techniques as well as the current positions of the planets (called the transiting positions) to give you a sense of the situation right now and into the near future.

As a result of this work, you will have a better idea of the story of your life, your particular strengths and how to use them, as well as an understanding of your current situation and options arising out of it.

After this, there are a few choices that can be made:

We can work in continued counseling to address problems that have been revealed in the history and the mutual interpretation of the chart.

We can set up a time in the future to go over the "weather" at that time.

We can find a specialist to address particular problems that may arise (for instance, to find the exact best time for a wedding date or to open a business, a branch of astrology called "Electional Astrology).
